Monogram Design Process | Part I
Currently working on a monogram logo design with the letters SCC for Specialized Coaching & Consulting. Using Adobe Sketch for the initial exploratory sketches, I work from and build upon layers, revealing only active layers while working. When I made all layers visible at once, I appreciated the resulting compositions, especially the complexity and architectural dimension of the combined overlapping shapes and elements.
Design Process: Feeney’s Restaurant & Bar

Logo design for an American steak house, Feeney’s Restaurant & Bar located in Phoenix, AZ. The client approached me with a concept sketch. They wanted the combined letters of the name “Feeney’s” to create the form of a cow. Because of their tight deadline, I was having a difficult time making the letters readable in the tight spaces of the head and rear so I compromised by creating the torso of the cow with the letters while keeping the clearly identifiable head and rear of the cow in place. I think this works well for readability, especially considering they plan to use the logo and wording underneath as their main sign closest to the street on which they are located to attract business. Because the restaurant serves Angus beef, the cow was modeled off of an Angus beef cow.
